Job Description
The Technical Editor is responsible for editing product-specific technical documentation within the business unit, working with about 20 highly experienced technical writers.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Edit or rewrite technical documentation to improve the accuracy, completeness, conciseness, and clarity of information.
· Analyze documentation to identify issues with organization, consistency of style, and information delivery methods.
· Provide suggestions for improving the usefulness of technical documents considering all factors that affect quality technical documentation.
· Serve as an advocate for consistency within the group.
· Research and provide answers to any questions on style, language, or information architecture from writers or technical teams.
· Stay abreast with the latest technical writing trends and methodologies.
· Be part of the team that advocates the use of and maintains the Synopsys Style Guide.
Experience
Requires 5-6 years of relevant experience in a similar role at a multi-national software or publishing company. Technical writing skills with an excellent knowledge of the English language are required. Working knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat is a plus.

· The ability to prioritize projects, manage time effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
· The capability to work independently, yet seek guidance when necessary.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with different types of people.
· The ability to work with a geographically and culturally diverse technical writing team.
Suitable candidates based in Hyderabad would also be considered.
Education
Requires a Master’s Degree in English, engineering, or a related field.
