Senior Physical Design Specialist (Location:- Bangalore)

Job Responsibilities:

The Physical Design Specialist (PDS) plays a critical role in the success of Synopsys’ customers as they design ASICs which push the limits of complexity, time to market and silicon technology.
By enabling adoption of Synopsys' Physical design products and leading-edge methodologies ("flows"), the PDS brings tangible and lasting improvements in performance, cost, quality, and development time for these ASICs. PDS work with customers to solve complex technical challenges in the area of high frequency designs, deep sub-micron technology, low power, and signal integrity. India PDS’s today work on cutting edge 65nm and 45nm designs in the wireless, consumer and processor space. The designs that the PDS work on range from a few million gates to several tens of millions of gates. PDS have the opportunity to work with various customers, giving them abundant exposure to different design styles, different application domains and different complexity and process geometry nodes. PDS partners with customers on training, problem resolution, methodology guidance, and technical account management. PDS’s are expected to manage multiple customer issues concurrently and be very effective at interacting with customers, not only design engineers, but first or second level management as well. PDS’s align with Sales to exceed quota as they proactively manage customer accounts to success. PDS works with Synopsys Sales Team on product demonstrations, evaluations, and competitive benchmarking. PDS’s play an active role in account planning, working as part of the account team to develop solutions to customer problems based on their insight into the customers' needs and issues. PDSs are part of an AC team managed by the Technical Manager. They also provide technical feedback to Synopsys product development teams pertaining to critical issues and recommended enhancements. The PDSs will be expected to take advantage of opportunities provided to improve technical and job related skills; such as developing additional product breadth and leadership skills.

Job Requirements:
BSEE/ MSEE (or equivalent) required with 5+ years design experience. Design experience should include ASIC design with experience using place and route tools. Deep understanding of design methodologies is required, with emphasis placed on the backend physical design process. Knowledge of the front-end design process or experience with timing signoff, extraction, and LVS/DRC are a plus. Synopsys tool experience is desired, but not required. Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills are required. Customer sensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities and have a helpful/caring attitude towards customers, and the desire to assist customers exploit new technologies are essential for success in the position.
